PL2400 Abdominal Crunch / Back Extension

Brand: Steelflex · Model: PL2400 · Category: Plate Loaded

The Steelflex PL2400 Abdominal Crunch / Back Extension is a full-commercial plate-loaded dual-function crunch and back extension machine from Steelflex’s Plate Load 2 series, built for gyms that want a plate-loaded core pair on one seat. Back extensions and abdominal crunches share one seated position, a lateral pin controls the lower movement arm to switch exercise, and adjustable foot braces allow rightward and leftward torso work. It is rated for users up to 120 kg (264 lb) and occupies 132 × 118 cm of floor.

• Crunch and back extension from one seat

• Lateral pin switches the exercise

• Adjustable foot braces for oblique work

• Plate loaded, sealed bearings

• 120 kg maximum user weight

The Steelflex PL2400 is the abdominal crunch and back extension in Steelflex’s Plate Load 2 line, strengthening the external obliques, rectus abdominis and thoracolumbar fascia from a single seated position. A lateral design pin controls the lower movement arm to alternate between the two exercises, and the adjustable foot braces let the torso work in a rightward or leftward direction.

Who is this machine for?

The PL2400 suits commercial gyms, hotel and corporate fitness centres, physiotherapy settings and premium home gyms in India that want to train the front and back of the core with plates on a 132 × 118 cm footprint. The 120 kg maximum user weight covers most members.

Exercises it supports

The crunch targets the rectus abdominis with the obliques assisting; the back extension targets the erector spinae and thoracolumbar fascia with the glutes assisting; angling the foot braces brings the external obliques into both movements.

Build quality and adjustment

The movement arm pivots on commercial-rated sealed bearings with continuous welds, the lateral pin selects the exercise, the foot braces adjust, and the plate horn takes standard Olympic plates.

Like every Plate Load 2 machine, it carries a two-coat, electrostatically applied powder finish in black with a vermilion-red texture; 5 cm of rebonded foam under 10 mm of high-density foam with a CGPC PVC cold-latex leather cover, double stitched; dipped PVC handgrips; continuous welds at all pivot points; and commercial-rated sealed bearings at every pivot. Resistance comes from the Olympic plates the facility already owns, loaded on the machine’s horns.

Space and installation

The PL2400 measures 132 × 117.6 × 125 cm (51.9" × 46.2" × 49.2") (L × W × H). The PL2400 measures 132 × 118 × 125 cm (L × W × H). Allow about 0.6 m clear at the plate horn for loading and 0.6 m in front. No power is needed. Luxe Fitness delivers, assembles and levels the machine; plates are chosen separately.

Care and maintenance

Wipe the upholstery and handgrips after each session and unload plates between users. Check the pivot bearings, plate horns and lock-outs monthly and tighten frame bolts quarterly. Book a service visit if any pivot develops play or noise.
