The TRUE Performance 8000 (TPS8000) is a premium home treadmill from TRUE Fitness, a US manufacturer building treadmills since 1981. Its 152 × 53 cm running surface gives runners room to open their stride, a 3 HP motor drives the belt from 0.8 to 19.3 km/h, and TRUE’s Soft Select system lets each user set deck cushioning from soft to firm with one adjustment.

Who is this treadmill for?

The Performance 8000 suits serious home runners, families who share one machine and villa or penthouse gyms in Bangalore where the buyer wants club-quality engineering at home. Its 159 kg maximum user weight, extended handrails and 16.5 cm step-up height make it comfortable for a wide range of users, and the touchscreen consoles store profiles for several household members.

Key workout benefits

HRC Cruise Control holds a target heart rate by adjusting speed and incline automatically, so fat-burn and endurance sessions stay in the right zone without constant button presses. Pre-loaded programmes range from hill intervals and 10K runs to the Gerkin fitness test, and quick-touch speed and incline keys change pace in one press.

The 0–15% incline adds hill work, and a Polar heart-rate strap is included alongside the contact grips. Touchscreen consoles add streaming and app connectivity for longer sessions.

Build quality and user experience

TRUE’s FITX shock-absorbing system and lubricant-infused orthopedic belt cut the impact on knees and hips, while Soft Select changes the deck feel from track to pavement. The deck is reversible for extended life, and 7.62 cm rollers keep the belt tracking smoothly.

The heavy-gauge steel frame is robotically welded, the handrails are foam-covered and flared, and oversized straddle covers give a stable place to stand. Two water bottle holders, a device ledge and front transport wheels are standard.

Space, installation and power

The Performance 8000 measures 200 × 83 × 135 cm (L × W × H) and weighs 150 kg. TRUE recommends a clear zone of 0.5 m on each side and 2 m behind the treadmill, so plan for about 4.0 × 1.83 m of floor. In India the 220 V model is installed on a dedicated, earthed circuit that nothing else shares, which our team checks before delivery.

Care and maintenance

Wipe the handrails, grips and console after each session and vacuum under the treadmill weekly to keep dust away from the motor. The orthopedic belt is lubricant-infused, so do not apply oil or silicone. Check belt tracking monthly and book a service visit if the belt slips, drifts or the motor sounds unusual.
